The publishing programme is influenced in its editorial direction by the values of University of Buckingham. The University of Buckingham is the only independent university in the UK and the publishing programme reflects the tenets of the university and the principles of its founding fathers:

The University of Buckingham Press will provide an online and offline forum for the exchange of views and a vehicle for rigorous academic research in its formally produced output to disseminate the values which underpin the university in the subject areas at which the university excels.
